The eco-tourism activity is first started in the Western Maharashtra by Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. during the year 2000-01.It is now decided to extend the eco-tourism activity in the Vidarbha Region of Maharashtra particularly in Nagpur and Chandrapur districts (Two Tiger Project areas – TADOBA-ANDHARI and PENCH, One National Park- PENCH and One Sanctuary- NAVEGAON) because of rich fauna and flora and sufficient infra-structural facilities like accommodations and good roads. The tourists will be provided essential requirements like adequate accommodation, transport, guided visits in identified trails within the wild-life rich areas.
FDCM is to shoulder the responsibility of conducting this nature tourism as a nodal agency. The package will consist of travel arrangement, accommodation, food, sightseeing, camp activities and providing guides for interpretation and nature education. Other services like Trekking, Rock-Climbing, Adventure games etc. will also be made available in due course. Attractive but economic packages are worked out for student and nature loving public.
