Compost the organic manure is a mixture of decomposed and rotten organic materials which is relatively rich in nutrients and used as a component of potting mix in nurseries. Compost possesses following attributes :

a. chiefly used as soil conditioner.

b. improves soil structure.

c. increases the nutrient buffering and water holding capacity of the soil.

d. increases porosity of the potting mix.

e. contains some amount of Nitrogen and other nutrients.
